CLEVELAND -- Arizona linebacker Ray Thompson was taken from the field on a cart Sunday after spraining his neck in the third quarter of the Cardinals' game against the Cleveland Browns.

Thompson said was he was momentarily paralyzed, but X-rays were negative.

"I went numb," he said following Arizona's 44-6 loss.

Thompson, a four-year veteran, was in a pile of players trying to tackle running back James Jackson. Following the play, Thompson laid face down for several minutes before rolling over onto his back without assistance.

"At the time I didn't want to move because I was numb," he said. "But after a couple of seconds, I got my feeling back. My neck is a little sore. I am not going to rush anything, this is a serious situation."
