Wesley Phillips allocated to NFL Europe
FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- The Atlanta Falcons on Thursday signed quarterback Wesley Phillips, the son of former defensive coordinator Wade Phillips.
Wesley Phillips played the last two seasons with San Diego in the Arena Football League. He will be allocated to NFL Europe by the Falcons.
Wade Phillips spent the last two years with the Falcons. When head coach Dan Reeves was fired with three games left this past season, Phillips took over as interim coach and led Atlanta to a 2-1 record.
He was a candidate for the Falcons' head coaching job, but lost out to Jim Mora. Phillips is now the defensive coordinator of the San Diego Chargers.
Also Thursday, the Falcons hired former Boise State assistant Robert Prince as an offensive assistant and signed linebacker J.R. Johnson and punter Glenn Pakulak.
