Walker spent last year with Vikings

ALAMEDA, Calif. -- The Oakland Raiders signed free agent cornerback Denard Walker on Thursday.

Walker, a seven-year veteran, spent last season with the
Minnesota Vikings, where he had 58 tackles and one interception.

"Denard is a welcome addition, as he is a highly productive pro
football player," Raiders coach Norv Turner said. "We're pleased
to have him join what is an already talented group of defensive
backs."

The Raiders, who went 4-12 last season, signed cornerback Ray
Buchanan last month. They also designated cornerback Charles
Woodson as their franchise player and have Phillip Buchanon and
Nnamdi Asomugha.

"I'm excited about joining the Raiders and it feels like it was
a long time coming," Walker said. "I feel very fortunate and look
forward to contributing to the Raiders' success in 2004."

Walker also played two seasons with Denver and four with
Tennessee.
