IRVING, Texas -- Dallas Cowboys backup running back Erik Bickerstaff likely will miss the season after tearing his Achilles tendon during a team workout last week.
Bickerstaff had surgery Friday. According to the team's Web site, Bickerstaff will be placed on injured reserve this week, meaning he'll miss the 2004 season.
The injury occurred during a routine carry in practice.
Bickerstaff had 59 yards on 19 carries and had two special teams tackles in the Cowboys' final four games last season.
