Carey gets start at tackle due to injuries

DAVIE, Fla. -- Miami Dolphins first-round draft pick Vernon Carey will make his first NFL start Sunday at New England as a
replacement for injured tackle John St. Clair.

Carey was inactive the past two games even though the Dolphins'
offensive line has been plagued by breakdowns.

"Vernon has got a big opportunity," coach Dave Wannstedt said
Wednesday. "This is why we drafted him. He's going to get his

St. Clair is out with knee and ankle injuries. The Dolphins are
hoping he'll miss just one game.

Top receiver Chris Chambers is questionable this week after
missing Sunday's loss to the New York Jets with knee tendinitis

"I just had to rest it for a week," Chambers said. "I feel a
lot better right now. I'm just trying to take care of it and see if
I can get back."
