Williams unable to play on ankle

IRVING, Texas -- Detroit Lions receiver Roy Williams missed Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys because of an ankle injury.

Williams leads the Lions with 24 catches for 362 yards and five
touchdowns, having taken over as a starter when Charles Rogers was
lost for the season. Az-Zahir Hakim started in his place against
the Cowboys.

It would have been the first NFL game in his home state for
Williams, who is from Odessa and played in college at Texas. His
only game at Texas Stadium was in the 2001 Big 12 championship game when the Longhorns lost to Colorado.

Dallas receivers Quincy Morgan (strained hamstring) and Dedric Ward were both inactive Sunday, a day after Terry Glenn was put on
injured reserve.

Keyshawn Johnson was the only active receiver for the Cowboys
who had an NFL catch before Sunday. Fourth-year receiver Randal Williams started opposite Johnson, and rookies Terrance Copper and
Patrick Crayton, both signed from the practice squad Saturday, were
