The Seahawks also lost Pro Bowl guard Steve Hutchinson to a sprained right ankle, though he tried unsuccessfully to return early in the second half. Coach Mike Holmgren said he'd know more about both injuries Monday.

Receiver Alex Bannister, who also made the Pro Bowl last season as a special teams player, broke his collarbone and will miss eight weeks.

The Seahawks also lost kick returner Maurice Morris to a concussion on the opening kickoff, and defensive tackle Rashad Moore left early in the second half after an allergic reaction to something he ate.

It's unknown whether Morris or Moore can play next week at San Francisco.

Rice had one catch for 6 yards early in the period, but went to the bench a short time later and didn't return. He said a defender rolled on his ankle late in the first quarter or early in the second.

"I tried to do everything and work my way through it, but it was a no-go," Rice said. "It's a little swollen right now. I'm going to get some X-rays and find out what's going on. What a bummer."

The NFL's career receiving leader joined the Seahawks in a trade with Oakland on Oct. 19.
