The trade Wednesday between New Orleans and Miami that involved linebackers Courtney Watson and Eddie Moore was nullified Thursday after Moore failed his physical with the Saints.

Both players will return to their original teams.

Moore, a second-round pick by Miami in 2003, played in five games last season, primarily on special teams and as a reserve linebacker, before being placed on injured reserve after fracturing his right knee. He underwent surgery to repair it last year.

Moore played in 13 games with four starts in 2004, finishing with 34 tackles, a fumble recovery and four passes defended. He also had 12 tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery on special teams.

Watson was drafted in the second round of the 2004 draft and has far more experience as a starter. He started eight of 12 games in which he appeared his rookie season. Last season, however, he played in only nine games, finishing with 37 tackles, including one sack.

He was arrested in late October on a drunken driving charge in San Antonio and a knee sprain kept him out for the last seven games of the season.
