CB McCleon signs one-year contract with Titans

The Houston Texans signed cornerback Dexter McCleon to a one-year contract to fill in for cornerback Demarcus Faggans, who will be out six to eight weeks with an ankle injury. McCleon was one of the best cornerbacks left on the market.

McCleon has 30 interceptions and 4.5 sacks in nine seasons in the NFL. The Clemson graduate has been a reliable presence on the field, playing 13 or more games in eight of those seasons. He recorded one defensive touchdown in 2001.

McCleon comes to the Titans after three years with the
Kansas City Chiefs. McCleon spent the first six years of his career with the St. Louis Rams.

Terms of the deal were not immediately available.
