Panthers wait on Smith, who doesn't practice
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Steve Smith sat out another practice for the Carolina Panthers on Thursday with a strained right hamstring.

The All-Pro receiver, who missed the Panthers' season-opening loss to Atlanta, has been out since Sept. 5. He remained questionable for Sunday's game at Minnesota.
Smith, who led the NFL in receiving last season, missed more than two weeks of training camp with a strained left hamstring and another week with an ingrown toenail.
If Smith can't play Sunday, Drew Carter is expected to start against the Vikings.
Center Justin Hartwig missed his second straight practice with a groin injury and also remained questionable. Geoff Hangartner would likely replace Hartwig against the Vikings.
