Panthers lose another CB when Morton limps off
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Carolina cornerback Christian Morton, pushed into the starting lineup because of injuries to most of the Panthers' secondary, left Sunday's game against the New York Giants with a hamstring injury.
Morton pulled up during a punt return in the first quarter. He was taken straight to the locker room and his return was doubtful.
He was replaced by Dion Byrum, an undrafted rookie signed off Tampa Bay's practice squad last month. But it left Carolina without any other cornerbacks, forcing safety Mike Minter to switch positions during third-down passing situations.
