Mangini to serve as adviser, spokesman for USA Football
NEW YORK -- New York Jets coach Eric Mangini will serve as a coaching program adviser and spokesman for USA Football, the sport's national governing body on the youth, high school, and international amateur levels.
Mangini, 36, will help bolster USA Football's progressive coaching program by helping coaches teach the youth and amateur game. He'll also offer guidance to USA Football members through online coaching courses at USAFootball.com.
"I'm proud to be part of USA Football," Mangini said. "They provide great resources for leagues, coaches, game officials, parents, and players. I invite everyone in the football community to join me and ensure a strong future for our game."
Mangini is entering his second season as the coach of the Jets, and was part of three Super Bowl titles as an assistant with New England.
"We are more than pleased to have Coach Mangini's endorsement and support," USA Football executive director Scott Hallenbeck said. "His credentials, combined with the fact that he's a dedicated parent of young children, make him a great fit for our team. His involvement will benefit our coaching program members, and ultimately, the thousands of youngsters that they coach."
USA Football offers coaches the chance to enhance their skills with single-day coaching schools, conducted in partnership with NFL clubs. Two levels of coaching courses are also available at USAFootball.com, and the organization helps give insight on communication with players, parents, and coaches.
