Carr replaces QB Testaverde after Achilles tendon injury

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Carolina Panthers quarterback Vinny Testaverde left Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts in the
third quarter with tendinitis in his right
Achilles tendon.

The preexisting injury was aggravated late in the first half when Testaverde
handed off to DeShaun Foster, and left guard Mike Wahle stepped on the quarterback's foot.

He finished the half but was replaced by David Carr after
halftime, and was seen on the sideline with an ice pack on the
ankle.

He
completed 12 of 20 passes for 82 yards in the first half before
leaving.
