Faulk explains incident that led to citation for possession
Speaking for the first time since being cited for marijuana possession early this offseason, Patriots running back Kevin Faulk said the drug was discovered in a jacket he was wearing at the time that was not his.

In an interview with Boston newspapers, Faulk, one of New England's seven captains last season, said the marijuana was not his and he did not smoke it. He passed a drug test in February a few days after he was cited while going to a Lil' Wayne concert in Louisiana.
"The only comment I have on it is that I take total responsibility for what happened to me," Faulk said, according to reports. "I knew there were going to be a lot of questions as to why I didn't comment on it, but I was always taught actions speak louder than words, so my reaction was to just go and take a drug test."
Four marijuana cigarettes were found in the former LSU star's jacket. The citation was for simple possession, a misdemeanor.
Faulk's agent, Raymond Brothers, said at the time that Faulk met with Patriots coach Bill Belichick to explain the situation, and that Belichick urged the player to take a drug test to clear up his involvement.
It is uncertain whether Faulk will face formal charges.
Faulk was a captain last season for the first time in his nine years with the Patriots. He had 47 catches for 383 yards and one touchdown. He's the team's all-time leader in receptions by a running back with 323.
Faulk also had 62 rushes for 265 yards in the Patriots' 18-1 season, which ended with a 17-14 loss in the Super Bowl to the New York Giants.
