Thomas, Redskins agree to contract in time for camp

The Redskins reached a contract agreement Friday with their top draft pick, wide receiver Devin Thomas, that will allow him to report to training camp on time Saturday.

Thomas, according to a source, agreed to a four-year, $4.8 million contract that included roughly $2.7 million in guarantees. Thomas becomes the fifth second-round pick to come to terms and he's the highest selection of the round to receive a contract.

The 6-foot-2, 218-pound Thomas was taken 34th overall.

On the eve of camp, tight end Fred Davis, also a second-round selection, is the only one of 10 Redskins draft choices that is unsigned.

The 21-year-old Thomas caught 79 passes for 1,260 yards as a junior at Michigan State. Many draftniks considered him the top receiver in the draft but no receivers were taken in the first round.
