Ailing Browns TE Winslow released from hospital
BEREA, Ohio -- Cleveland Browns tight end Kellen Winslow was released on Sunday from the Cleveland Clinic, where he was hospitalized for an undisclosed illness. He has been downgraded to doubtful for Monday's game against the New York Giants.
The NFL Network reported Sunday that Winslow definitely won't play in Monday night's game. According to the report, Steve Heiden will start in his place.
Winslow has undergone four knee surgeries and has had to play through pain throughout most of his four-year NFL career.
His illness is not believed to be related to any of his previous injuries.
Information from ESPN.com's John Clayton and The Associated Press was used in this report.
