Bills' Schobel wears protective boot on injured foot
The status of the team's top pass rusher is uncertain for Buffalo's game against San Diego this weekend.
Coach Dick Jauron was expected to update Schobel's status later in the day as the Bills (4-1) practiced for the second time this week since coming out of their bye.
Schobel was held out of practices last week after he aggravated the injury to a ligament near his big toe during a 41-17 loss at Arizona on Oct. 5. But Wednesday was the first time the defensive end was spotted wearing a boot, an indication the injury might be more severe than first believed.
Schobel said last week he expected to play through the injury despite difficulty pushing off his left foot. He was initially hurt during a 31-14 win at St. Louis on Sept. 28. A two-time Pro Bowl selection, Schobel is off to a slow start, managing just one sack, which came in Buffalo's season opener.
Starting cornerback Terrence McGee practiced for the first time since spraining his left knee against St. Louis.
