Harris, cut by Chiefs, to take physical for Vikings
Harris came to Minnesota in the Randy Moss trade in 2005 and spent two seasons with the Vikings, playing solidly as the starter at middle linebacker in 2006 before leaving as a free agent for a six-year contract with Kansas City.
He wasn't playing much with the Chiefs, though, and was cut this week.
Harris is in his seventh NFL season out of Northwestern. The Vikings have lost two linebackers -- defensive MVP E.J. Henderson and backup Heath Farwell -- to season-ending injuries. They signed another former Viking, Dontarrious Thomas, to a contract on Monday.
