Vikings defensive end Jared Allen says a sprained right shoulder could keep him from playing Sunday against the Packers.

Allen was injured last weekend against Houston. He said he has a third-degree sprain, which is the most severe.

Losing Allen would be a huge blow to one of the best defensive lines in football. Allen is tied with Kevin Williams for the team lead with seven sacks. He came to Minnesota in a trade with Kansas City in the offseason and then signed a contract that made him the richest defensive player in the league.

Allen has five sacks in the last three games. He had two against the Texans, including a one-handed drag down of Sage Rosenfels that sealed the victory late in the fourth quarter.
