There was movement on the AFC Pro Bowl quarterback roster on Tuesday.Jets' Brett Favre and the Chargers' Philip Rivers are not going to play in the game because of injuries. Tennessee's Kerry Collins has been named to the roster. Favre was one of three AFC quarterbacks to be named to the Pro Bowl last month. Rivers was the No. 1 alternate. Collins was the No. 2 alternate.
Favre's absence was long expected. He ended the season with a shoulder injury. He rarely played in the Pro Bowl while with Green Bay. Favre is considering retirement, so he may have played his final game. Rivers is not playing because of a sore knee, a Chargers' spokesman said Tuesday night. The spokesman said Rivers is not expected to have surgery. Rivers is not expected to miss any of the Chargers' offseason condition program. Rivers suffered a torn ACL in the 2007 playoffs but played without issue in 2008 and had his best NFL season.
