TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Arizona Cardinals have hired former Kansas City Chiefs assistant Curtis Modkins as running backs coach.
He replaces Maurice Carthon, who was hired as assistant head coach of the Chiefs on Thursday. Carthon followed Todd Haley to Kansas City less than two weeks after the Cardinals' former offensive coordinator was hired as the Chiefs' new head coach.
Modkins was the Chiefs' running backs coach last season. Before moving to the NFL in 2008, Modkins was an assistant coach for six years at Georgia Tech, Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt's alma mater.
