NFL free-agency roundup: March 5

3/5/2009 - NFL Dallas Cowboys

Baltimore RavensVeteran kicker Matt Stover says he's no
longer in the Baltimore Ravens' plans.

Stover said Thursday night that when he approached team officials Monday to tell them about a free-agent offer from the New York Jets, he said the Ravens responded by telling the 41-year-old kicker that they are "going in a different direction."

But the Jets re-signed Jay Feely, a close friend of Stover's.

That leaves Stover without a kicking job for next season.

In 18 NFL seasons, Stover has made 462 of 552 field goals and hit 558 of 561 career extra points.

Dallas CowboysDefensive end Igor Olshansky will visit the Dallas Cowboys on Friday, sources told ESPN.com.

Olshansky, who became an immediate starter for the Chargers out of Oregon, played in 75 games over the course of his five year contract with San Diego.

The 6-foot, 300-pound Olshansky could help replace Chris Canty, who signed with the New York Giants on Tuesday.
