Chargers, Burnett agree to deal
According to a source, Burnett agreed to a two-year, $5.5 million deal that included $4 million in guarantees. Burnett had been talking to several teams: the Oakland Raiders, Houston Texans, Green Bay Packers, Chargers and others.
On Tuesday, he decided to bolster Norv Turner's linebacking crew. Burnett, 26, was a second-round choice of the Cowboys in 2005. He started four games in four years, but his best season was 2005 when he started two games and had a career-high 53 tackles.
Burnett has the versatility to play inside or outside but will probably help the Chargers at inside linebacker.
