Lewis' deal terminated
The New England Patriots terminated the contract of veteran wide receiver Greg Lewis, one of two speed receivers the team acquired during the offseason.
AFC East blog
ESPN.com's Tim Graham writes about all things AFC East in his division blog.
Lewis came to the Patriots in a trade with the Eagles in which the Patriots surrendered a fifth-round pick. Lewis and Joey Galloway were brought in to add more speed to an already explosive offense.
Galloway is staying now that Lewis has been released. An undrafted receiver, Lewis spent six seasons with the Eagles before going to the Patriots.
