Cribbs out at least one more day
BEREA, Ohio -- Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Cribbs is satisfied that Ravens defensive end Dwan Edwards did not deliver a cheap shot on him in the closing seconds of Monday night's game.
Cribbs, who was briefly hospitalized with a possible neck injury and concussion, said he spoke to Edwards, Baltimore linebacker Ray Lewis and a few other Ravens players on Tuesday.
Edwards was fined $5,000 by the NFL for the hit, sources told ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen.
The Browns were worried the Ravens were retaliating for Browns quarterback Brady Quinn's chop-block on Baltimore linebacker Terrell Suggs, who could miss significant time with a knee injury. A league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter that Quinn has been fined $10,000 for the chop-block.
Cribbs pitched the ball on a pass play and was leveled by Edwards, who delivered a forearm and shoulder to Cribbs' chin. The Browns' top playmaker spent a few hours at the Cleveland Clinic undergoing tests, which the team said came back negative.
Cribbs was being held out of practice on Wednesday. He hopes to play Sunday against Detroit.
