Source: Reese to get 2nd interview

The Seattle Seahawks have started to narrow their general manager search from four to two and former Titans general manager Floyd Reese has been asked to return for a second interview, according to a source.

Reese interviewed with the Seahawks on Wednesday along with Marc Ross, the Giants' director of college scouting. Omar Khan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and John Scheider of the Green Bay Packers interviewed on Tuesday.

According to the source, the plan is to have the two finalists fly to Seattle to meet with owner Paul Allen, but it is starting to look as though Reese has the inside track to land the job.

Reese, who is currently working with the New England Patriots, was on the Minnesota Vikings' coaching staff with Pete Carroll in 1985. Carroll and Reese hit it off well during their interview Wednesday, according to several sources.

Tim Ruskell resigned as general manager of the Seahawks toward the end of the season. The Seahawks approached Mike Holmgren about the job, but that didn't work out.

Carroll was hired as head coach this week and the organization wants a shared power between the head coach and general manager.
