The New Orleans Saints reached agreement on a one-year contract with defensive end Jimmy Wilkerson on Tuesday.
Wilkerson's deal is worth $2 million, a source said.
Wilkerson, an unrestricted free agent, had been talking about re-signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He also was talking to the Seahawks, Saints and Rams. His recent visit to the Saints excited him about the possibility of joining the Super Bowl champions.
Wilkerson and Alex Brown, formerly of the Chicago Bears, have been added to the team to upgrade its pass rush.
The team announced that restricted free agents linebacker Marvin Mitchell, wide receiver Courtney Roby and safety Usama Young all signed their tender offers.
