Cornerback William James and the San Francisco 49ers have agreed to terms on a contract, a league source said Wednesday.

James started 14 of 16 games for the Detroit Lions last season. He had 73 tackles and two interceptions, one which he returned for a touchdown.

James is a 10-year veteran who has played for the Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars, Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants.
