Darnell Dockett fined $5K for tweet
Dockett tweeted 90 minutes before the Cardinals' 17-13 win over the St. Louis Rams on Sunday.
Tennessee linebacker Stephen Tulloch was fined $7,500, and Houston running back Arian Foster and cornerback Glover Quin were fined $5,000 each. New England defensive back Pat Chung, Denver defensive end Ryan McBean, Carolina safety Sherrod Martin and Dallas nose tackle Jay Ratliff also were fined $5,000 each. All the fines were for unnecessary roughness.
The NFL also fined Chicago Bears defensive end Julius Peppers $5,000 for a hit to the helmet of Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford. Brian Urlacher also was fined $5,000 for a late hit on a Lions offensive lineman after Tommie Harris recovered a fumble.
According to an NFL source, the Bears fined veteran Brandon Manumaleuna $22,000 for failing to attend mandatory team meetings Saturday evening in advance of the Bears' season opener against Detroit.
Loadholt was disciplined for twice grabbing a Saints' face mask, in the second and fourth quarters of the game Sept. 9, while Tulloch was fined for a horsecollar tackle.
The penalty for Foster, who rushed for a franchise record 231 yards and three touchdowns, stemmed from the end of his 42-yard run in the fourth quarter, when he grabbed Colts safety Antoine Bethea's facemask. Foster was not penalized during the game.
Quin was fined for hitting Reggie Wayne in the head and neck area after Wayne's 22-yard reception in the first quarter. Quin was flagged for a 15-yard personal foul.
Martin was cited for unnecessary roughness on the hit Sunday that gave New York Giants tight end Kevin Boss a concussion, and Ratliff was penalized for roughing the passer in the Cowboys' game against Washington, unnecessarily hitting Donovan McNabb in the knee area.
Chung was fined for striking an opponent late on a pass play, and McBean was fined for grabbing an opponent's facemask on a pass play.
