Beanie Wells limited by allergic rection
Coach Ken Whisenhunt said Wells had a rare allergic response when he received a shot of Orthovisc into his right knee. The knee immediately swelled up and was still somewhat swollen Thursday.
Wells missed the first two games of the season after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on the knee, which he injured in the final preseason game. He said he had no idea that he was allergic to the medication, which Whisenhunt said is commonly used to add lubrication to sore knees.
Whisenhunt said Wells improved Thursday but needs to do more in Friday's practice for the coach to feel comfortable playing Wells on Sunday at Minnesota.
