SAN DIEGO -- Tight end Antonio Gates will play for the San Diego Chargers against the rival Oakland Raiders.
Gates has been affected by a torn plantar fascia in his right foot. He missed two straight games, but played last Sunday in a victory at Indianapolis.
Running back Ryan Mathews is active, but Mike Tolbert is expected to be the featured back.
Wide receiver Vincent Jackson will sit out with a calf injury. Right guard Louis Vasquez is out with a stinger.
