Terrell Owens out with sore knee

The Cincinnati Bengals' first win after a 10-game losing streak ended without a catch by Terrell Owens, who missed practice last week with torn cartilage in his left knee and hobbled off the field during Cincinnati's opening drive after running a long route.

The injury will likely sideline him for the final two games.

The 37-year-old receiver missed practice last week because of the knee, but was on the field for the opening drive. He ran a long pass route on Cincinnati's sixth play, then limped off the field.

"There isn't any swelling. It's just one of those freak things that happened," Owens was quoted as saying by The Cincinnati Enquirer. "I played that entire game and I played it last week."

The paper reported that Owens, who was was on crutches following the Bengals' 19-17 win over the Browns, suffered a torn meniscus in his left knee.

The injury was a major setback for the Bengals. Owens had a huge game in a 23-20 loss in Cleveland earlier in the season, catching 10 passes for 222 yards -- the second-highest total of his career. He became the oldest receiver in NFL history to have 200 yards receiving.

Third-year receiver Jerome Simpson was active for the game, only the fourth time this season he was active.
