IT WAS OVER WHEN... GAME BALL GOES TO...
Olindo Mare's 43-yard field goal sailed through the uprights in overtime. Dolphins defense. Allowed the Ravens only 220 yards of total offense and sacked Anthony Wright three times.
ERIC ALLEN'S ANALYSIS: The low number of points was not surprising because of the style of play both teams employ and their great defenses. The Ravens offense is as bad as its ever been and will have to get better for them to make a run for the playoffs.
UP NEXT: Dolphins (6-4) vs. Redskins (4-6) | Ravens (5-5) vs. Seahawks (7-3)

Saints 23, Falcons 20

ERIC ALLEN'S ANALYSIS: This is always a game where you can throw out the records. The players on the field can smell the gumbo in the stands and are pumped by the crowd. New Orleans was able to pull it out because of Deuce McAllister's continued spectacular play.
UP NEXT: Saints (5-5) at Eagles (7-3) | Falcons (2-8) vs. Titans (8-2)

Eagles 28, Giants 10

ERIC ALLEN'S ANALYSIS: Right now the Eagles are rolling, McNabb is playing well and the defense is starting to confound opposing offenses. Meanwhile, this loss pretty much dashes any hopes the Giants had of making the playoffs.
UP NEXT: Giants (4-6) at Bucs (4-6) | Eagles (7-3) vs. Saints (5-5)

Panthers 20, Redskins 17
RECAP | BOX SCORE

ERIC ALLEN'S ANALYSIS: The Panthers were able to win because of the play of QB Jake Delhomme. He made the correct decisions and kept his team in the game. With him playing well, the Panthers could be the best in the NFC.

ERIC ALLEN'S ANALYSIS: The Bills are a huge disappointment after starting the season so well. But the Texans have to be congratulated for their play. They kept pressure on Bledsoe and capitalized on the Bills mistakes.

ERIC ALLEN'S ANALYSIS: The Rams haven't played well recently. But good teams win ugly games and this was an ugly victory for Mike Martz's squad. This team could either get their act together or continue to struggle. The next few weeks will tell the story.
UP NEXT: Rams (7-3) at Cardinals (3-7) | Bears (3-7) at Broncos (6-4)

Bengals 24, Chiefs 19

ERIC ALLEN'S ANALYSIS: This game was a surprise to everyone except Chad Johnson. Coach Marvin Lewis has come so far in such a short time that it's amazing. He did a great job getting his defense prepared for a very tough offense.
UP NEXT: Chiefs (9-1) vs. Raiders (3-7) | Bengals (5-5) at Chargers (2-8)

Browns 44, Cardinals 6
RECAP | BOX SCORE

ERIC ALLEN'S ANALYSIS: This past week the Browns made some surprising moves and the players rallied around their coach. After those distractions they could've came out flat, but instead they took it to the Cardinals.
UP NEXT: Cardinals (3-7) vs. Rams (7-3) | Browns (4-6) vs. Steelers (3-6)

Titans 10, Jaguars 3
RECAP | BOX SCORE
IT WAS OVER WHEN... GAME BALL GOES TO...

ERIC ALLEN'S ANALYSIS: A lesser team would've lost this game, but the Titans were able to come away with a victory because they maintained their focus. With this victory, the Titans have assumed the mantle as the best team in the league.
UP NEXT: Jaguars (2-8) at Jets | Titans (8-2) at Falcons (2-8)

Colts 38, Jets 31
RECAP | BOX SCORE

Peyton Manning connected with Reggie Wayne on a 35-yard pass on third-and-seven in the fourth quarter. Indy then ran out the clock. Manning. With Marvin Harrison and Marcus Pollard both out with injuries, Manning still managed to throw for 401 yards and one TD.
ERIC ALLEN'S ANALYSIS: This was a game that featured two quarterbacks near the top of their craft. But it came down to the defenses and the Jets defense wasn't able to make the big plays.

The Broncos took a 27-0 lead in the second quarter on a Shannon Sharpe TD. Sharpe. The 14-year veteran caught seven passes for 101 yards and three touchdowns.
ERIC ALLEN'S ANALYSIS: The Flutie magic in San Diego is gone. The Chargers had a week of celebration and now reality has set back in. Meanwhile, the Broncos are looking like one of the best teams in the AFC with Plummer back as quarterback.
UP NEXT: Chargers (2-8) vs. Bengals (5-5) | Broncos (6-4) vs. Bears (3-7)

Seahawks 35, Lions 14

When Bobby Engram returned a punt 83 yards for a TD in the second quarter to put the Seahawks up 35-7. Engram. In addition to the punt return for the TD, caught three passes for 59 yards and one touchdown.
ERIC ALLEN'S ANALYSIS: The Seahawks are an excellent home team and have to start transferring that to their road games if they want to make the playoffs. They have a strong offense and an opportunistic defense. It's time for them to start to assert themselves on the road.
UP NEXT: Lions (3-7) at Vikings (6-4) | Seahawks (7-3) at Ravens (5-5)

Packers 20, Bucs 13
RECAP | BOX SCORE
IT WAS OVER WHEN... GAME BALL GOES TO...
Brad Johnson's last-second heave from Tampa Bay's 49-yard line fell incomplete. Ahman Green. Rushed for 109 yards and one touchdown (the game-winner) on 21 carries.
ERIC ALLEN'S ANALYSIS: This was a pivotal game for both teams' playoff hopes. It came down to which team had enough offense to win and the Bucs' offense struggled. This loss is probably the death knell for the Bucs playoff chances.
UP NEXT: Packers (5-5) vs. 49ers (4-5) | Bucs (4-6) vs. Giants (4-6)

Adam Vinatieri booted a 26-yard field goal with under two minutes left to put the Patriots up 12-0. Patriots defense. Intercepted Quincy Carter three times and pitched their first shout out of the 2003 season.
ERIC ALLEN'S ANALYSIS: People talked about this being the battle of the Bills. But in reality it was the battle of two excellent defenses. The Cowboys lost because the Patriots have better personnel and took advantage when the Cowboys made mistakes.
UP NEXT: Cowboys (7-3) vs. Panthers (8-2) | Patriots (8-2) at Texans (4-6)
