Mike Holmgren vs. Bill Belichick
Mike Holmgren By Sean Salisbury

Mike Holmgren is going to have his team prepared for this game after last week's debacle. The Seahawks have played excellent defense all season, but they threw a game away late against a great offense. This week, they're playing an offense that hasn't played particularly well all season and that's going to help the 'Hawks offense.

When facing a defense like the Patriots, a team can't feel pressured to score a lot of points and since the Pats offense isn't firing it should keep some pressure off the 'Hawks. This is a young team, but Holmgren will spend the week getting it prepared for what it's going to have to face. The Seahawks know they aren't going to put up 35 points on this defense so they're going to be content with the 17-20 necessary to possibly walk away from this game with an upset.

Bill Belichick By Joe Theismann

We've had some great coaching matchups this year with Bill Parcells going against Joe Gibbs and Tom Coughlin already this season. Now we've got another great field general matchup with Bill Belichick facing Mike Holmgren. Belichick is a defensive mastermind with a great coordinator in Romeo Crennel, who doesn't receive nearly enough credit for what he does. On the other side of the field, Holmgren is an offensive wizard and he has a team that has a multitude of weapons.

This is going to be a tough one and I don't expect either coach to be "outcoached." This game is going to be determined by execution and by which team doesn't make mistakes. In that sense, I believe Coach Belichick has the edge. His team always seems to make the right plays at the right time and that's because he puts his players in the right position. The Patriots aren't as young as the Seahawks so they won't be as fazed by the notion of a big game and that will be the difference in this matchup.
