Week 8: Favre, Ginn enjoy happy returns

STUDS

Ginn

Ted Ginn: Ginn has yet to fulfill his potential as a wide receiver, but he's doing just fine as a returner. Ginn had two third-quarter kickoff returns for touchdowns (100 and 101 yards), helping the Dolphins hold off the Jets for a 30-25 victory. Ginn became the first player to return two kickoffs for touchdowns in the same quarter since Green Bay's Travis Williams in 1967.

Johnson

Chris Johnson: The Titans finally earned their first victory, and Johnson was a big part of Tennessee's success. Johnson rushed for a franchise-record 228 yards, scoring on runs of 52 and 89 yards, to power the Titans to a 30-13 victory over Jacksonville.

Eagles

The Eagles' offense: The absence of star RB Brian Westbrook (concussion) didn't prevent the Eagles from rolling over one of their biggest rivals. Donovan McNabb completed 17 of 23 passes, including three for touchdowns, and DeSean Jackson had another big TD catch (a 54-yarder) as Philadelphia beat the Giants 40-17. Jackson became just the second player in NFL history with six TDs of at least 50 yards within the first seven games of a season.

Favre

Brett Favre: For the second time in less than a month, Favre had a big game against his former team. Favre completed 17 of 28 passes for 244 yards and four touchdowns as the Vikings won in Green Bay 38-26. In two games against the Packers, Favre has thrown for 515 yards with seven TDs and no interceptions.

Jones-Drew

Maurice Jones-Drew: The Jaguars lost to the Titans, but Jones-Drew certainly wasn't the reason his team fell short. Jones-Drew rushed eight times for 177 yards and two touchdowns. His average of 22.1 yards per rush was the best in the NFL in the past 50 seasons (minimum eight rushes). Jones-Drew now leads the league with 10 rushing TDs.

Jackson

Steven Jackson: The Rams are no longer winless -- thanks mostly to Jackson. Jackson's 25-yard TD run with 1:38 left lifted the Rams to a 17-10 win over Detroit, snapping their 17-game losing streak. Jackson finished with a season-high 149 yards on 22 carries.

Wayne

Reggie Wayne: Wayne caught a career-high 12 passes for 147 yards -- the fifth-highest regular-season total of his career -- and one TD as Indianapolis improved to 7-0 with an 18-14 victory over San Francisco. It was Wayne's first 100-yard receiving game since Week 3.

Moats

Ryan Moats: Moats, given extended playing time because of Steve Slaton's fumbling problems, scored touchdowns on three consecutive fourth-quarter drives to help the Texans beat the Bills 31-10. The three touchdowns were a career high for Moats, as were his 126 rushing yards. Moats had only one career 100-yard rushing game before Sunday (it came in 2005 with the Eagles) and four career TDs.

DUDS

Anderson

Derek Anderson: Anderson had another miserable outing in Week 8, as did the entire Browns' offense. Anderson completed only 6 of 17 passes for 76 yards and was intercepted twice in Cleveland's 30-6 loss to the Bears. He was replaced by Brady Quinn with about three minutes left in the game.

Warner

Kurt Warner: Warner was extremely careless with the football in Week 8, and the Cardinals had their three-game winning streak snapped. Warner threw five interceptions and fumbled the ball away once in Arizona's 34-21 loss to the Panthers.
