| ESPN Fantasy Projection (last updated: May 15, 2009) |
2009 Season Outlook First the good news. Orton began 2008 with 10 touchdowns and four interceptions in seven games until injuring an ankle, rushed back too soon, and posted nine TDs and eight picks in his final seven while hobbled. The bad news is perhaps a bit more meaningful: Orton has yet to illustrate he's a leading man in the NFL. Orton has never eclipsed 3,000 yards passing, nor has he accounted for fewer than 17 turnovers in either of his full seasons. As a Bronco under Josh McDaniels, Orton should get the chance to start, and he'll get to make more throws than he did as a Bear. Heck, McDaniels turned Matt Cassel into a fantasy star, right? Still, while you can definitely find quarterbacks with lower floors, it's difficult not to find a signal-caller with a higher ceiling. |
