| ESPN Fantasy Projection (last updated: May 15, 2009) |
2009 Season Outlook The Daily Show wasn't a starter as a rookie, but in Carolina's game plan (only two teams had a higher run-versus-pass ratio in 2008 than the Panthers) he was, like TV's Jon Stewart, timely and valuable. Despite concerns about a surgically repaired toe, Stewart rushed for 10 scores. Combined, Stewart and DeAngelo Williams scampered for 2,351 rushing yards, the most by any two NFL rushers on the same team in 24 years. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, and the Panthers won't. Despite the fact that Williams likely will start most games, if he's healthy Stewart should see a steady diet of double-digit-carry games (he had nine in 2008) and goal-line looks (he had 28 red zone carries in '08 to Williams' 37). But that's the question: will Stewart's sore Achilles allow him to take an NFL-style pounding? He'll be a boom-or-bust fantasy pick in '09. |
