Player News (last updated: November 22, 2009)
News: Mendenhall racked up 116 total yards and a touchdown in Sunday's loss to the Chiefs.
Spin: Mendenhall carried 21 times for 80 yards but seemed a bit more dangerous out of the backfield Sunday. He had just four receptions but they went for 36 yards and a touchdown (the first receiving touchdown of his career). He also saved a touchdown for the Steelers when Ben Roethlisberger was picked off in the endzone in the fourth quarter. KC's Andy Studebaker raced toward a pick-six, but was chased down by Mendenhall just a few yards shy of the Steelers' endzone. He may have been spelled a bit more by Willie Parker on Sunday, but he is still the focal point of the rushing attack.

Head to head: Steelers WR Santonio Holmes vs. Chiefs CB Brandon Flowers

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette (18 hours ago)
Suddenly, the big pass play has disappeared from the Steelers offense. After torturing opposing secondaries with long passes in the first six games, the Steelers are finding them harder to come by than swine flu shots.

On the Steelers: Team's greats should have their own place of honor

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette (18 hours ago)
Few NFL teams have the kind of history combined with a large fan base as do the Steelers.
