News: Tomlinson had 20 carries for 73 yards and a touchdown on Sunday at Denver, but he missed parts of the game due to a hip injury that has been bothering him since Week 9, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports. Spin: Tomlinson first bruised his hip Nov. 8 against the Giants, but he doesn't seem to think the injury is all that serious. "It's still bruised," Tomlinson said. "Whenever I get hit or land on it, I monitor it. But I don't think about it." Tomlinson knows he has a healthy and capable backfield partner in Darren Sproles, so he frequently subs out of the game if the hip is acting up. But it seems it's not too much of a problem since his two best games of the year, statistically, came after the injury. Tomlinson continues to get the lion's share of carries in San Diego, and he is starting to break longer runs with much more regularity. The Chargers' running game is really hitting its stride as the season winds down. |
