SCOUTING REPORT
Dolphins' D will take aggressive approachMiami played well in interim head coach Jim Bates' debut last week, and it looks to build on that momentum going up against a reeling 49ers club. The Dolphins' quarterback issues continue, as both A.J. Feeley and Jay Fiedler had to leave last week's game with injuries.

Miami hopes Feeley is able to return, but look for the running game to shoulder the bulk of the offensive load regardless of who is under center. The 49ers will counter with a similar game plan, as establishing the running game would take some pressure off QB Tim Rattay and help keep an injury-decimated defense on the sidelines. Will Bates lead the Dolphins to a much-needed win on the road, or will San Francisco's ground game power it to victory?

Message from Dolphins' Chad Pennington: I don't Twitter
Your vote has been counted, thank you for voting. BY JEFF DARLINGTON jdarlington@MiamiHerald.com In case you were wondering, Dolphins quarterback Chad Pennington didn't put down a 40-ounce Porterhouse, two baked potatoes, zucchini and a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon for dinner last Thursday night.

Ronnie Brown has something to prove with Miami Dolphins this season
Ronnie Brown is a quality NFL running back. But he might have to be more than that - maybe a lot more than that - if he wants to be the featured back in the Dolphins' offense beyond the 2009 season.
Miami Dolphins' Will Allen more than mentor to young cornerbacks
One of Tony Sparano's pet expressions is that he is more concerned about getting the "right 53 players'' on the team, not necessarily the best.
