Oakland (4-8) at Ny Jets (2-10) Sunday 1:00 pm EST
With Kerry Collins struggling, Raiders coach Norv Turner has hinted that he may make the switch to Tuiasosopo.
"I wouldn't have brought it up if it wasn't something I was considering strongly," Turner said at his Monday news conference. "We're going to look at the quarterback position and say, 'Hey, is it time to look at Tui?' With his mobility, would that help us."
A backup since being drafted in the second round in 2001, Tuiasosopo's only career start came against Detroit on November 2, 2003. It was a forgettable one as he suffered a knee injury on Oakland's third offensive series. He hasn't played in an NFL game since.
Last Sunday, Collins completed 22-of-40 passes for 236 yards and one touchdown with an interception in a 34-10 loss to San Diego.
Oakland, which is in last place in the AFC West, has gone a woeful 13-31 since making the Super Bowl in the 2002 season.
Beset by injuries, the Jets have lost seven straight games and are tied with San Francisco and Green Bay for the NFL's second-worst record, one game behind Houston.
Down to Brooks Bollinger, who started the season as the club's third-string quarterback, the Jets have scored just one offensive touchdown th last four games. New York ranks last offensively, averaging 11.9 points and 241.8 yards.
The Jets again were abysmal offensively in last Sunday's 16-3 loss to New England. New York managed just 164 yards and 12 first downs.
Curtis Martin also was shut down against his former team, managing just 29 yards on 15 attempts. The NFL's fourth all-time leading rusher needs 265 yards over his final four games for his 11th straight 1,000-yard season.
Series: Oakland leads, 19-12-2. The last seven meetings have been in Oakland. New York last hosted Oakland in 1997.
Next week: Oakland hosts Cleveland, December 18 NY Jets visit Miami, December 18

Jets aren't about to tank vs. reeling Raiders
Norv Turner is certainly a coach on the hot seat, and after another ineffective outing from Kerry Collins, he wasted no time in suggesting he might give Collins the hook in favor of Marques Tuiasosopo. No matter who is behind center, the Raiders desperately need to rediscover their running game against a Jets' run defense that is allowing 137.7 yards per game.
As much as Jets fans want to see their team tank and win the Reggie Bush lottery, head coach Herman Edwards won't allow his team to let up. Even though the Jets have lost seven straight games, they still have played with more heart than the Raiders have over the past two weeks, and don't discount that factor in this game. Whichever team gets the early lead in this game may win simply because the other team will become disinterested.
