Joyner: No. 1 secondary? Pats over Hawks There's no question the Seattle Seahawks ended the 2013 season with the league's most dominant secondary. But the New England Patriots look poised to steal that title from them in 2014.
Seahawks need to sharpen running game before the playoffs
The Seahawks responded well from a Week 15 road loss to Carolina and dismantled the Ravens at home Sunday. Seattle would have pitched a shutout had it not been for a late long touchdown reception by Derrick Mason. The Falcons have had a ton of distractions recently. They lost their coach, as Bobby Petrino abandoned his team. They thought they had Bill Parcells to run the franchise, but he spurned the Falcons for the Dolphins. Despite all of this, the Falcons played very hard for interim head coach Emmitt Thomas Sunday, forcing OT before falling on the road to the Cardinals. Seattle will host a first-round playoff game and would like to enter the postseason with some momentum, particularly with their running game.
