HOUSTON (AP) -- On the brink of his first win as coach of the Houston Texans, Gary Kubiak couldn't bear to look.
|Scouts Inc.'s take ...|
The Texans finally found a team with a weaker offense. Both teams had a hard time protecting their QB (five sacks each).
Houston finally got its first multiple-sack game, and Mario Williams (above) broke out of his slump with 1½ sacks. Miami gave up on its running game before it had a chance to develop, rushing for 70 yards on 14 attempts against one of the league's worst teams against the run. It is hard to win when you convert three of 12 third-down attempts and can't control the clock.
Miami must go back to the drawing board to find a running attack and a way to protect the quarterback. If it doesn't, Miami will struggle to win this season.
Mare kicked his 14th field goal of 50 yards or longer, tying the Dolphins record held by Pete Stoyanovich. ... Johnson had the 12th 100-yard receiving game of his career.
