INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- No running up the score this week. Against the Colts, Tom Brady was content to close out another victory for the New England Patriots by kneeling down three times.
In what was hyped as the biggest NFL regular-season game ever, the Patriots stayed on course for an unbeaten season as Brady threw two of his three touchdown passes in a four-minute span of the fourth quarter Sunday to overcome a 10-point deficit and beat Super Bowl champion Indianapolis, 24-20.![]() | ||

Tom Brady & Co. never flinched, not even when trailing on the road. Despite a standout performance by Indy RB Joseph Addai, who was the best player on the field Sunday, and the fact the Colts led for much of the game, the Patriots never gave up. A couple of plays late in the game epitomized the team effort, overall poise and confidence that make New England so dangerous. There was WR Wes Welker's outstanding out route at the goal line. With double coverage on the outside, Welker got position on the defender, made a clean snatch of the pass and tightroped into the end zone for the go-ahead score. Jarvis Green's sack of Manning -- when he forced the ball out into the air and into the waiting arms of Rosevelt Colvin, all but sealing the win -- was another one. Nothing rattled the Patriots, and their faith in one another might just be their strongest asset.
