Newman's TD was the first of his five-year career on an interception return. ... This was the third time this season Romo has been sacked three times. The Jets were coming off a seven-sack performance. ... Jerricho Cotchery led New York with 43 yards receiving. Laveranues Coles (ankle) was inactive for the second time in three games. ... The last time the Cowboys had only one loss on Thanksgiving? The strike year of 1982, when they were 2-1.
The Cowboys dominated the line of scrimmage early on with their zone blocking scheme and power running game. New York tried to confuse the Cowboys' offensive line by having its front three amble around the line of scrimmage, alternating alignments with each other, to the point of not getting into their three-point stances so Dallas wouldn't know what kind of front it would see. However, the Cowboys settled down and ended up doing a good job of protecting QB Tony Romo, who was 14-for-17 in the second half. But it was the tough running of Marion Barber and Julius Jones that wore down the Jets' defense.
