Rodgers' three TD passes help Packers solidify spot in wild-card race
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- A month ago, the Green Bay Packers were worried that their season was slipping away.Now they've won four straight after beating the Baltimore Ravens on Monday night.Yes, Monday's 27-14 win was monumentally ugly. But that didn't matter afterward, because the Packers are suddenly sitting pretty in the playoff race.
Monday's clash between the Packers and Ravens was one of the most heavily-penalized games in NFL history. It tied for second-most penalty yards in a game.
|Nov. 25, 1951||374||Browns (209), Bears (165)|
|Monday||310||Packers (175), Ravens (135)|
|Oct. 17, 1976||310||Bucs (190), Seahawks (120)|
|Oct. 21, 1945||309||Packers (184), Yanks (125)|
• The Packers became the second team since the merger to commit three or more turnovers and be penalized 175 or more yards in a victory. The other -- the 1988 Oilers against the Raiders.
• Aaron Rodgers threw for three TDs but was picked off twice, his fourth career multi-interception game. However, he has 25 pass TDs and 7 INTs through 12 games, making him just the sixth player in NFL history with 25+ TDs and 7 or fewer picks through 12 games. Brett Favre was the fifth, as he has 26 and 5 this season.
• Green Bay is 19-4 in regular-season home games in December or later since 2000.
• Baltimore has lost six of its last nine games after a 3-0 start to the season.
