Mike Shanahan, Donovan McNabb debut as Redskins capitalize on Cowboys' mistakes
LANDOVER, Md. -- Trailing by six on the last play of the game, Tony Romo scrambled, stumbled and scrambled some more. He stepped forward and finally spotted Roy Williams, wide open in the end zone.
A 13-yard pass for a game-winning touchdown. Teammates knocked Williams to the ground in celebration.More from ESPN.com, ESPNDallas.com

Going The Distance
Donovan McNabb's overall numbers might look pedestrian, but his downfield throws were on target against Dallas. In fact, he was more accurate on throws of more than 10 yards than on passes shorter than that distance.

Game notes
Cowboys All-Pro LB DeMarcus Ware left the game in the fourth quarter. Phillips said he believes the injury is a sprained neck muscle. "I think DeMarcus is going to be all right," Phillips said. ... Two-time All-Pro Haynesworth didn't have much to say about his new role as a backup. "The situation is what it is," Haynesworth said. "I was on nickel package. I did my job out there."

Research Notes
From Elias: DeAngelo Hall scored on a fumble return for a TD on the final play of the 1st half Sunday night vs the Cowboys.
Prior to last night, the last time a defensive TD was scored on the final play of a half was on September 11, 2005. Jason Taylor (MIA) recovered a fumble and ran 85 yards for a TD on the last play of the 4th quarter against the Broncos.
Elias can confirm that it was the first time the Redskins scored a defensive TD on the final play of a half since the merger (1970). |
