The Packers made five cuts: LB Tavarus Dantzler, T Fabbians Ebbele, LB Josh Francis, DT Lavon Hooks and T Vince Kowalski. That leaves them at 83 players. They need to make eight more moves by tomorrow. The remaining moves could be injury-related.

They have three capable backs in Chris Ivory, Bilal Powell and Zac Stacy, so there's no need to rush Ridley. Todd Bowles also left open the possibility of CB Dee Milliner (wrist surgery) beginning the season on short-term IR. That would help with roster management.
