BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Chris Clemons has been released from a hospital where he was treated for dehydration.

Clemons was helped off the field at Lehigh University about two hours into the team's Tuesday morning practice. He was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital in an ambulance, but never lost consciousness. He returned to Lehigh later Tuesday, the team said on its Web site.

The National Weather Service station in nearby Allentown reported temperatures around 80 degrees.

Clemons signed a five-year contract with the Eagles in the offseason, and is competing for a starting spot.
