In addition, the team could be without defensive back Brian Williams, defensive end Reggie Hayward, wide receiver Troy Williamson and defensive tackle Derek Landri. All had limited practice time this week.

RAVENS TO GIVE SMITH START VS. VIKINGS (3:50 p.m. ET)
It's Troy Smith's turn in the Ravens' quarterback derby.
After an uneven performance by Kyle Boller in the Ravens' 16-15 victory over the Patriots on Thursday night, Smith will start the second preseason game Aug. 16 against the Vikings and play the majority of the first half.
"We're looking at it as two games with balanced repetitions," Ravens coach John Harbaugh said late Thursday at Gillette Stadium. Harbaugh acknowledged he could potentially determine the starter for the Ravens' regular-season opener against the Bengals before the third preseason game.

TEXANS CUT BELL, SIGN TUCKER (2:34 p.m. ET)
The Texans waived running back Mike Bell and signed offensive tackle Torrin Tucker on Friday after Ephraim Salaam was sidelined with a knee injury.
Salaam started all 16 games for Houston last season, but coach Gary Kubiak said Salaam will be out for three to four weeks after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his left knee.
The Texans signed Bell on July 31 to back up Chris Brown, who's been hampered by back soreness at training camp. Bell played two seasons with Denver before the Broncos released him and he signed with Houston.

HARRISON, BRACKETT OK TO PLAY (2:09 p.m. ET)

Colts wide receiver Marvin Harrison and linebacker Gary Brackett have been cleared to play in Saturday night's preseason game at Carolina, coach Tony Dungy said Friday, according to The Indianapolis Star.
Earlier this week, Dungy said Harrison, who's returning from offseason knee surgery, would not appear in a game until next week at the earliest. But Harrison took part in two practices Thursday and wants to get back on the field.
"He actually wanted to work those two practices, made it through OK, felt good, wants to get a little bit in," Dungy said, according to the Star.
Brackett returned to practice Thursday after being held out of last Sunday's game with a groin injury.
